Brazilian football star Neymar has expressed his frustration with his former coach at Al Hilal, Jorge Jesus.
The coach had questioned whether Neymar was ready to play after recovering from a long injury.
Neymar recently returned to action with Santos, playing in the second half of their 1-1 draw against Botafogo in the São Paulo State Championship. Despite being away from football for a long time, he performed well in the match.
After the game, Neymar told reporters that he was very upset with Jesus’ comments about his ability to play.
“I’m ready to play. Of course, I can’t play the full 90 minutes yet because I was injured for a long time. But I needed game time,” Neymar said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
He added, “I was VERY upset when Jorge Jesus said I wasn’t capable of playing like the rest of the team.”
Neymar’s contract with Al Hilal was recently terminated by mutual agreement, allowing him to make his return to Santos.
