Transfer deadline day: Arsenal fail to bring in new players

Arsenal fans hoping for new signings on transfer deadline day were left disappointed as the club did not bring in any players before the January window closed.

Manager Mikel Arteta admitted that his squad is “very short,” especially after injuries to key players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus. Despite this, the club chose not to sign reinforcements, leaving them with the same squad for the rest of the season.

Reports from Sky Sports suggest that Arsenal are focusing on making signings in the summer instead of rushing into deals in January.

Even without new signings, Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes Arsenal can still challenge for the Premier League title.

“I do think they can win it. It is a long shot, but the season is still long,” Neville said.

However, he pointed out that Arsenal’s best chance of winning would be if Liverpool face injury problems.

As things stand, Arsenal are in second place with 50 points, six points behind league leaders Liverpool. The Gunners will now have to push for the title with their current squad and hope their key players stay fit.

Would Arsenal regret not making signings in January? Only time will tell.
