Jigawa State is making a big move towards cleaner energy by investing over N132 million in a state-of-the-art training centre located in Dutse. This centre is set up to teach experts how to convert petrol vehicles into ones that run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), which is a cleaner and more efficient fuel option.
At a recent “Train-the-Trainers” workshop held at the Ministry of Power and Energy’s conference hall, Engineer Musa Al’assan Arobade, the Permanent Secretary, shared exciting details about the project. One key plan is to soon award contracts for converting 25 petrol vehicles into CNG-powered vehicles.
Additionally, the state government will sponsor training for 20 individuals who will learn the technical skills needed for this conversion process. These trainees are expected to be selected from the Ministry of Power and Energy and the Jigawa State chapter of the Association of Automobile Technicians.
This initiative is part of Jigawa’s commitment to improving energy security, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, and promoting renewable energy sources. With efforts like these, Jigawa aims to drive economic growth while making strides towards a cleaner environment.
