Bayer Leverkusen’s Managing Director, Simon Rolfes, has confirmed that Victor Boniface will not be transferring to Saudi club Al Nassr.
Boniface was close to finalizing a high-paying move to Al Nassr after the Saudi club reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for his transfer.
The Nigerian striker had also agreed to personal terms with the team coached by Stefano Pioli.
However, Al Nassr decided to cancel the deal and chose to sign Aston Villa’s forward, Jhon Duran, instead.
Rolfes stated that the club is pleased Boniface will continue playing for them.
“There were discussions, but we are happy that he is training with us today. I believe he will stay,” Rolfes said.
“He enjoys being here, and his commitment to the club remains the same.”
