EFCC officer found dead in Lagos

An officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Remedy Yange, was tragically found dead on a street in Lagos. The discovery was made by passersby who tried to identify the body. It was later confirmed that Yange’s identity was established through an ID card found near his body.

Yange, a native of Benue State, had been on leave to spend time with his family in Lagos when the unfortunate incident occurred. The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the death and mentioned that an investigation is currently ongoing to determine the cause.

This is the second EFCC officer death in recent weeks. On January 19, Aminu Salisu, an assistant superintendent officer, was killed in Anambra during an operation. The suspect, Joshua Ikechukwu, allegedly killed Salisu after refusing to allow the officers to enter his home, despite their polite request. Investigations revealed Ikechukwu was involved in illegal online activities.

The EFCC has assured the public that they are thoroughly investigating both deaths to bring clarity to these tragic events.
