The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Abia State has elected Kelechi Apugo as its new Chairman during its State Congress held in Umuahia.

Before his election, Apugo served as the acting Chairman of the NNPP in the state. His performance in this role earned him the trust of the delegates, who chose him to lead the party officially.

This election followed the successful completion of the Ward and Local Government Congresses across Abia. Alongside Apugo, other executive members were also elected to strengthen the party’s leadership at the state level.

Speaking after his election, Apugo expressed his determination to build the party and prepare it for success in the 2027 elections. He emphasized the NNPP’s strong presence across the country and its people-centered manifesto, which he believes will resonate with voters in Abia.

The NNPP is now focused on its growth and plans to become a major political force in the state and beyond.
