Ukraine’s military has carried out a wave of drone attacks on Russian targets, causing damage and chaos. On Tuesday, the Ukrainian army confirmed it launched drones at an oil depot in Russia’s western Voronezh region, near Liski. This marks the second attack on this depot in just a few days. The strike set tanks full of fuel and lubricants, used by Russian troops, on fire.
In another attack, Ukraine targeted a military aircraft plant in Smolensk, a city in western Russia. This caused explosions, according to Ukrainian sources. However, the local governor of Smolensk stated that falling debris from the drones caused only roof fires, not major explosions.
Russia responded by claiming it shot down 55 Ukrainian drones during the night, most of which were intercepted in areas close to Ukraine’s border. Meanwhile, Ukraine reported that Russia launched 131 drones and decoys, as well as four missiles, at Ukrainian territory.
These attacks are part of the ongoing conflict between the two nations, which has seen frequent strikes on military and strategic targets.
