Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has officially sworn in six new commissioners and key board members to support his administration’s development goals. The ceremony, held at the New Festival Hall in the Government House, also saw the appointment of chairpersons for the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC), the State Secondary Education Board (SSEB), and the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (EDSOGPADEC).

During his speech, Governor Okpebholo called on the appointees to focus on delivering growth and progress to the state. He urged them to serve with integrity, excellence, and teamwork to improve the lives of Edo citizens.

“This is more than just an honor,” he said. “It is a responsibility to serve with dedication. We chose you because we trust your skills and believe you can help us build a model state of growth and prosperity.

The new appointees include:

• SUBEB Chairman: Onomen Goodness Briggs
• Commissioners: Sir Lucky Eseigbe, Hon. Paul Nosayaba Ohonbamu, Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, Hon. Dr. Washington Osa Osifo, Mr. Andrew Ijegbai, and Barr. Marie Olabisi Idaomi (portfolios to be announced later).
• EDSIEC Chairman: Jonathan Aifuobhokhan
• EDSOGPADEC Chairman: Francis Osaretin Osabuohien
• SSEB Chairman: Omozane Ebanehita Sonia

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Hon. Paul Nosayaba Ohobamu thanked the Governor for trusting them with these roles and promised their dedication to providing practical governance that benefits the people.

The event was attended by key government figures, including the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, and other top officials, party leaders, and dignitaries.

Governor Okpebholo concluded by reiterating his administration’s commitment to fulfilling its promises and making Edo State a better place for all.
