Nigerian women see relationships as form of employment – GehGeh

In a recent episode of “The Honest Bunch” podcast, popular Nigerian media personality GehGeh shared his thoughts on modern relationships, claiming that many Nigerian women see them as a form of employment. According to GehGeh, today’s women expect men to pay their bills and support them financially, which he believes is an unfair expectation.

GehGeh explained that in the past, marriage had a different structure. He pointed out that, in his father’s time, women worked hard to support their families, especially in farming, while men were seen as the providers and protectors. He stated that men had authority, and women worked to support the household.

However, GehGeh believes that things have changed. He argued that many Nigerian women today look for financial gain in relationships, and he feels this makes Nigerian women difficult to date or marry. He warned men to stop marrying, as he believes women use marriage as a strategy to get men to waste their money.

GehGeh’s views reflect a growing concern in Nigeria about the changing roles of men and women in relationships and marriage. His opinions suggest that, for him, the dynamics of modern dating and marriage are problematic, especially when it comes to financial expectations.
