Nigerian activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has openly addressed the controversy surrounding alleged missing funds from his NGO account. He shared a video on Instagram to clarify the situation and prove his transparency by revealing details of his bank statement.
In the video, VeryDarkMan showed himself visiting Zenith Bank to collect a detailed bank statement covering December 15th to December 30th. He mentioned that the document was over 2,000 pages long but assured his followers that the e-statement would be made available for further verification.
According to the breakdown he provided:
- Opening balance: N239 million
- Total debit: N39,000 (deducted as electronic money transfer levies by the Federal Government)
- Total credit: N1.9 million
- Closing balance: N240 million
VeryDarkMan emphasized that there were no suspicious transactions or unauthorized withdrawals from the account during the specified period. He also reassured the public that the funds in the NGO account are safe.
He used the opportunity to criticize his detractors, dismissing their claims as unfounded and referring to them as “mumu” for believing he would misappropriate the funds. VeryDarkMan also expressed confidence in Zenith Bank, stating that his money remains secure with the financial institution.
In the video, he boldly described himself as the most patriotic Nigerian, emphasizing his commitment to transparency and integrity. He also expressed pride in his accountability and trustworthiness, urging the public to rely on the facts he has presented.
