In a tragic incident in Ebonyi State, a 40-year-old man, Joshua Nwafor, is accused of killing his wife, Charity, over a disagreement about a tuber of yam. The couple had lived peacefully in their home in Nsokkara, Ezza South Local Government Area, for 17 years.

The trouble began when Joshua decided to cook yam for the family, but Charity preferred roasted yam. She went ahead to roast it, which caused an argument between the couple. In a fit of anger, Joshua reportedly dragged Charity into a room, locked the door, and beat her until she died.

The heartbreaking event has left the community in shock, raising questions about how a simple disagreement over food could escalate into such a tragic outcome.
