Super Eagles Maintain 44th Position In Latest FIFA Ranking

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have managed to maintain their 44th position in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings.

The world football governing body, FIFA, published the updated rankings on its official website on Thursday.

In November, the Super Eagles experienced a drop of eight places, landing at 44th globally. This position remains unchanged in the latest update.

The 2024 FIFA rankings highlight Nigeria’s struggles this year, as the team dropped eight spots overall. The decline came after disappointing performances in the final AFCON 2025 qualifiers, where Nigeria failed to secure victories against teams like Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Meanwhile, Argentina continues to lead the global rankings, followed by France, Spain, England, and Brazil, who make up the top five teams.

In 2024, a total of 1,181 international matches were played. However, since November, only a few matches have influenced slight shifts in the rankings.
