A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in New Mexico after allegedly killing his parents and two brothers. The incident occurred early Saturday morning in Belen, a city in Valencia County.
According to police, the teenager called 911 before dawn on Saturday and confessed to killing his family. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the boy walking out of the house, intoxicated and with his hands raised. Inside, they discovered the bodies of four family members: Leonardo Leyva, 42; Adriana Bencomo, 35; Adrian Leyva, 16; and Alexander Leyva, 14. It is believed that all the victims died from gunshot wounds, and a handgun was found on the kitchen table.
The victims were the boy’s parents and two brothers. The teenager is facing four charges of first-degree murder. The case has shocked the local community, and investigations are ongoing.
