In a major success for security forces, the troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) rescued 25 kidnapped victims and stopped three bandits during an operation in Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The mission, called Golden Peace, was launched early Tuesday morning to disrupt criminal groups threatening the peace in the area.
According to reports, the operation began around 6:00 a.m., with troops targeting known bandit hideouts in villages such as Ruwan Sanye, Randa, Rafin Gora, Libere Gari, and Libere Makaranta.
At Randa Village, the troops encountered resistance, leading to a gunfight. Three bandits were neutralized, and others fled, some likely injured. During the clash, the criminals abandoned their hostages, enabling the rescue of 25 kidnapped victims.
As the troops pursued the fleeing bandits, they discovered items left behind, including roasted chicken, cigarettes, tramadol, energy drinks, and clothing. They also found and destroyed an illegal clinic used by the bandits to treat their wounded members.
This successful operation highlights the commitment of security forces to restoring peace and protecting citizens in Kaduna State and beyond.
