Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared his thoughts on why Nigeria is not making progress. Speaking on the ‘Elevate Africa Convos’ podcast, Davido pointed out that Nigeria lacks effective leadership, which is vital for the country’s growth and development.
According to Davido, Nigeria has the potential to thrive but is held back by poor governance, which continues to hinder progress. He emphasized that strong and visionary leadership is necessary to unlock the nation’s potential.
In another recent podcast appearance on The Morning Hustle, Davido criticized Nigeria’s political system, saying it does not practice true democracy.
“I tell people, if you can survive in Nigeria, you can survive anywhere,” Davido stated.
“I just feel the only thing missing is the right leaders to guide us. Once we get that right, I believe there’s nothing that can stop us.”
Additionally, he sparked debates after warning Americans against moving to Africa, especially Nigeria, citing the country’s struggling economy.
Davido’s remarks have drawn attention to the leadership and governance challenges Nigeria faces.
