Hey everyone, no need to worry!
Yesterday, the internet was buzzing with news about Netflix, and many fans started worrying about Lisabi – A Legend is Born. We’re here to put your minds at ease. Our partnership with Netflix is still very strong, and we’re happy to announce that the second part of Lisabi will be available on Netflix in January, just like we promised! Stay tuned for the trailer and poster coming soon.
I also want to give a big shoutout to the amazing Yoruba directors and actors in our industry. You’re all doing fantastic work to showcase our culture and history, especially with Netflix bringing a new level of excitement. Movies like Jagun Jagun and Aluwampawo highlight the richness of Yoruba traditions and customs, making them even more epic.
One thing I truly appreciate is how our films stay true to our cultural roots. Unlike some movies that misrepresent cultures, the portrayals of elders and kings in Yoruba films are authentic and respectful of traditions. It’s clear that a lot of research is done to ensure accuracy.
Netflix’s involvement is really pushing Nollywood to greater heights. Take The King of Caliphate, for example. This film explored important issues like corruption and politics in Northern Nigeria, giving an in-depth look at the region’s complexities.
On the Igbo side, Amafuana was a hit, showing the story of a young salesboy’s rise to success. It also provided insight into Igbo customs and how the community shapes successful business people.
Overall, Nollywood is heading in the right direction, with filmmakers highlighting the unique cultures, traditions, and stories that make each Nigerian ethnic group special.
I believe Netflix sees the incredible potential in Nigerian filmmakers, and they’re committed to staying in the Nigerian market. Our creative industry is filled with talent, and Netflix is here to help us grow.
Looking ahead, I hope Nollywood continues to innovate by exploring more tech-driven and science fiction films, just like Hollywood and other industries. We’re only getting started, and the future looks bright!
So don’t worry, Netflix is here to stay, and our films are only going to get better. Stay tuned for more!
