The Appeal Court in Abuja has reversed the suspension of Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, the Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC). His suspension was initially ordered by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on April 4, 2024.
The case was decided by a three-member panel of justices, with Justice Umaru Fadawu delivering the lead judgment. The court found that the suspension order was unfair and denied Rimingado a proper chance to defend himself. His lawyer, Adeola Adedipe (SAN), successfully argued that the tribunal’s decision was biased and unlawful.
The Appeal Court further instructed that the case be transferred to another panel of the CCT for further review. This ruling is a significant legal win for Rimingado and highlights the importance of ensuring fairness in judicial proceedings.
With this decision, Rimingado is set to return to his position as the head of the anti-graft agency in Kano State.
