President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in South Africa to co-chair the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. The session aims to strengthen the ties between the two nations.
Upon his arrival, Tinubu was welcomed at the airport by South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Roland Lamola, and Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
The statement read, “President Tinubu in Cape Town, South Africa, for the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission meeting. He was received by South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr. Roland Lamola, alongside Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.”
This visit follows President Tinubu’s state trip to France. He departed from France on Monday and arrived in Cape Town, where the meeting is set to take place. The event on December 3 will be preceded by a ministerial meeting held on December 2 at the South African Parliament Building.
The discussions during this visit will cover various topics, including political consultations, migration, trade, defense and security, energy, and manufacturing. The leaders are focused on deepening cooperation in these key areas to benefit both countries.
