Four Kidnapped Children Released After N25m Ransom Demand in Kaduna

In Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani has announced the release of four children who were kidnapped in Keke Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area. The children were taken while their father visited his wife in the hospital, where she was caring for their twins. Initially, the kidnappers demanded 300 million Naira, but later lowered the ransom to 25 million Naira.

Governor Uba Sani shared the good news on his official Facebook page. He confirmed that the children were handed over to him by Mal. Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser. The children have now been reunited with their parents.

This success is seen as part of the ongoing peace efforts in the state. The release of the children was a result of a peace agreement facilitated by the Peace Dialogue Group, which was set up by the Kaduna State Government with the help of the National Security Adviser’s office. Governor Sani emphasized that the negotiations were carried out with care, focusing on building trust and confidence.

The release of these children is an encouraging sign that the peace efforts in Kaduna State are working. The governor also mentioned that the success in Birnin Gwari, another area in Kaduna, is already inspiring positive changes, and he hopes the peace model will spread to other states in the northwest region and beyond.
