President Bola Tinubu has reorganized the media and communications team in the State House to ensure better coordination and communication of government policies and decisions.
As part of the restructuring, two key officials have had their roles redefined:
Sunday Dare, previously Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, is now Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications.
Daniel Bwala, initially announced as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, is now Special Adviser on Policy Communication.
These roles, along with the position of Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, emphasize a collective approach to communication. Instead of a single spokesperson, all three advisers will serve as the voice of the Presidency, working together to provide clear and consistent messaging.
Daniel Bwala has officially announced himself as the new presidential spokesman, taking over a role formerly held by Bayo Onanuga after Ajuri Ngelale’s departure. Bwala, who also served as a spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 presidential campaign, dismissed suggestions that his appointment was financially motivated. He encouraged teamwork within the media unit and stressed the importance of focusing on the broader goals of the Tinubu administration.
In a meeting with the State House Press Corps, Bwala pledged to collaborate with team members and advance President Tinubu’s agenda. He emphasized the need for synergy and fairness among the media team, aiming to maintain transparency and efficiency in government communication.
This restructuring reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to improving how the government interacts with the public and ensuring its policies are clearly communicated.
