A horrific stabbing incident outside a school in Wuxi, eastern China, has resulted in at least eight deaths and 17 injuries. The attack occurred on Saturday evening around 6:30 p.m. at the Wuxi Yixing Arts and Crafts Vocational and Technical College.
Authorities say the attacker, a 21-year-old man who had graduated from the school earlier this year, carried out the violence out of frustration. He was unhappy with his exam results, which prevented him from receiving a diploma, and felt dissatisfied with his internship pay. The young man was arrested at the scene, and police say he confessed to the stabbing without hesitation.
A full investigation is underway, and local authorities are working to manage the aftermath of the tragic event.
This attack follows another deadly incident earlier in the week in Zhuhai, southern China, where 35 people were killed when a man drove his car into a crowd outside a stadium. That attack was reportedly driven by a personal dispute over a divorce settlement. These events have raised alarms about rising public violence in China, with some suggesting that personal frustrations are leading individuals to lash out at strangers.
