Kaduna Government Reunites 39 Released Minors with Families, Gifts N100k and Smartphones

The Kaduna State government has reunited 39 minors with their families after they were detained for participating in the #Endbadgovernance protest. The ceremony took place at the “Children’s Homes” on Katuru Road in Kaduna, where each of the children received N100,000 and an Itel A18s smartphone to help them as they return to society.

Governor Uba Sani, through the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Abdulkadir Muazu Meyere, promised to support the children’s reintegration. The government has vowed to offer rehabilitation programs, skills training, and even employment opportunities for the children to help them become responsible, law-abiding citizens. Those who have completed their tertiary education may also receive start-up capital for business ventures.

Dr. Meyere mentioned that the government would continue to monitor the behavior of the children and extend benefits based on their conduct. They also gathered the children’s contact information to ensure proper follow-up and assistance when needed.

After their release, each child underwent medical exams and received counseling to help them with personal development and their future contributions to the community. Religious leaders from both Islamic and Christian faiths also provided guidance, helping the children understand the importance of staying away from negative influences and focusing on faith.

The phones given to the children replaced those they lost during detention, while the N100,000 was a gesture of goodwill to support them as they begin their new journey.
