The Niger State Police have arrested three men in connection with the theft of a tipper truck valued at over N30 million. The suspects, identified as Nura Ibrahim, Adamu Ibrahim, and Abdulfatai Ibrahim, all reside on Kaduna Road in Suleja.
According to him: “On October 14, 2024, at about 1 pm, information was received that a tipper truck, white in colour, with engine number 071231, and chassis number AZ1642440082 worth over N30 million was found in a workshop along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway, Suleja, and was suspected to be a stolen vehicle.”
According to the police spokesman, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the suspects were taken into custody for theft and for receiving stolen property. Police officers from the Maje Division responded to the incident and discovered that Nura Ibrahim, aged 37, had arranged to sell the stolen truck to Adamu Ibrahim, also known as Dan Borno, for N9.5 million.
“They had started selling the vehicle in parts to parts buyers before the arrival of the police at the scene.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that Nura stole the said truck from Lugbe area of FCT to Kaduna Road, while Adamu bought the stolen truck and Abdulfatai aided the transaction,” SP Abiodun disclosed and said further that the suspects are under investigation and will be charged in court as soon as possible.
In a separate case, police apprehended a man named Jamilu Ismail, 32, who was found with three stolen mobile phones. Officers from the Maje Division arrested him after a victim reported the theft. The stolen phones were recovered during a search.
These arrests highlight the ongoing efforts of the Niger State Police to combat theft and recover stolen property in the region.
