Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the last election, has voiced his concerns over President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing absence from Nigeria. Tinubu left the country on October 2 for a two-week working vacation in the United Kingdom as part of his annual leave. Reports later surfaced that he traveled to Paris, France, for an important engagement after spending more than a week in the UK.
With the two weeks now complete, Obi is questioning why the president has not returned. He expressed, “The President had told us he would only be gone for 14 days. The 14 days have passed now, and we are waiting to see him in the country.”
Obi emphasized that, considering the significant challenges the nation is facing, it would have been reasonable for Tinubu to return earlier. He remarked, “The hardship caused by some of his administration’s policies is unimaginable, and we need his urgent attention to help guide the nation through this tough time.”
