Senator Shehu Sani Responds to Former Kaduna First Lady Hadiza El-Rufai After English Correction on X

Senator Shehu Sani, who previously represented Kaduna Central, had an interesting exchange on social media with Hadiza El-Rufai, the former First Lady of Kaduna State. The conversation started when Sani made a post on X (formerly Twitter) about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s frequent travels and how they might impact Nigeria’s economy.

In his post, Senator Sani shared his thoughts, humorously stating: “New law of economics; When the President travels out, Taxes and Prices goes up.” His message suggested that whenever the President leaves the country, there seems to be a rise in taxes and prices of goods and services.

However, Hadiza El-Rufai, who is known for correcting people’s English on the platform, noticed a grammatical error in Sani’s post. She pointed out that the correct phrasing should be “go up,” not “goes up.”

In response, Senator Sani replied to her politely but playfully, referring to her as “mummy” and asking her to leave him alone. His light-hearted response showed that he didn’t take the correction too seriously, maintaining a friendly tone in the conversation.

The exchange between Sani and El-Rufai caught the attention of many on social media, with users reacting to both the correction and the response.

“I unfollowed you and you unfollowed me. And you still de hang around me.Mummy, leave me alone abeg,” he wrote
