Elon Musk recently showcased Tesla’s new humanoid robots, called Optimus, at a special event held at Warner Bros. movie studio in Los Angeles. These robots, powered by advanced artificial intelligence, are designed to act as personal assistants and help with everyday chores. Musk shared that the cost of these robots is expected to be around $20,000 to $30,000 in the long run.

The event started with presentations of Tesla’s latest Robocab and vans, but the real highlight came at the end. The Optimus robots took the stage, dancing in front of an excited audience. Videos shared on social media showed one robot dressed in a bartender’s uniform pouring drinks, while other robots interacted with the crowd, even posing for selfies and serving desserts.

“One of the things we wanted to show tonight was that Optimus is not a canned video, it’s not walled off,” said Musk during the Robotaxi unveiling.

“The Optimus robots will walk among you. Please be nice to the Optimus robots,” he added.

Tesla investor Matthew Donegan-Ryan, who attended the event, shared his experience with Business Insider. He saw the robots hand out drinks and desserts, interact with people, and even perform a few casual tasks. Tesla had also previously released videos of the robots doing yoga stretches, squatting, and gently picking up an egg, demonstrating their fine motor skills.

Musk expressed his hopes that these robots will be available for purchase by the end of next year. He believes that as the technology improves and production increases, the price of the Optimus robots will become more affordable, eventually making them accessible to a wider range of people.

The event gave a glimpse of how Tesla’s robots might change everyday life, showing that the future of AI-powered personal assistants is not too far away.
