Terrorist Leader Turji Is in a State of Panic, Says Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Musa

General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, recently revealed that Bello Turji, a well-known terrorist leader, is in a state of panic because of the military operations targeting terrorists in North West Nigeria. Musa made this statement during an interview in Abuja on October 3.

The General highlighted that the recent elimination of key figures in Turji’s group, particularly Halilu Buzu, has caused considerable distress within Turji’s camp. Musa emphasized that the actions taken by Turji indicate fear and uncertainty about his position.

“You can see from what he is doing that he is panicking,” General Musa said. “He used to act as if he was in control, but now he knows he is not. He realizes it’s only a matter of time because Halilu Buzu, who was his boss, has been killed.”

Musa stated that Turji understands that he could be next. “Now that he knows his commander is gone, he knows he is next, and all he is doing now is just making noise,” he added.

The Chief of Defence Staff assured the public that military operations would continue with the goal of dismantling terrorist networks. He believes that many of the remaining militants will eventually be neutralized.

Musa also addressed some of the factors that contribute to ongoing insecurity in the region, such as poverty, lack of education, and poor governance. He noted, “There are many young people who are not occupied. The more we take out, the more are joining them.”

Furthermore, General Musa pointed out the challenges posed by Nigeria’s borders, which terrorists often use to evade capture. “We have a 1,500-kilometer border with Niger Republic and another with Benin Republic, allowing many to move in and out. We are making efforts to secure these borders to stop their movement,” he explained.

In conclusion, General Musa’s statements reflect a significant shift in the dynamics of the fight against terrorism in Nigeria, as military operations continue to put pressure on terrorist leaders like Bello Turji.
