Osun Youths Join #October1Protest, Demand for Fuel Subsidy Return

On Tuesday, youths in Osogbo, Osun State, joined the nationwide #October1Protest to express their frustration with the rising cost of living and demand the return of the fuel subsidy. Carrying placards with different messages, the protesters called on President Bola Tinubu to reverse the removal of the subsidy, which they believe would help ease the financial strain on Nigerians, especially with the high cost of food.

The peaceful protest began at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Old Garage, and moved through several key areas of Osogbo, including Oke-Fia, Dada Estate, Dele Yes Sir, and ended at the Olaiya flyover junction. Along the way, protesters chanted songs of unity to make their demands heard.

Security personnel were present to ensure the protest remained peaceful and orderly.

This protest is part of the larger #FearlessInOctober movement, which builds on the momentum of the #EndBadGovernance protests held in August. With the economic hardship worsening for many Nigerians, these demonstrations aim to draw attention to the urgent need for government intervention.
