Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has expressed her decision to not participate in celebrating Nigeria’s Independence Day this year. The actress took to her Instagram account to share a message with her followers, asking them not to send her any messages related to the occasion.

In her post, Destiny shared a banner that said, “Please, no matter what you do in life, please don’t send me Happy Independence tomorrow.” She further stressed her point by adding, “Pls pls o” in the caption.

The post quickly gathered attention, with many of her followers agreeing with her view. Several people commented, stating that they don’t believe there is anything to celebrate given the current state of the country.

It seems Destiny Etiko, like many Nigerians, is disheartened by the challenges facing the country, leading her to opt out of the Independence Day celebrations this year.
