Handi Danbaki, a former housemate from Big Brother Naija’s “No Loose Guard” season, has declared her readiness to face her fellow housemate, Ben, in court over a sexual assault allegation. The accusation stems from an incident that allegedly took place during their time on the show, which has now escalated into a legal battle after Ben threatened to sue Handi and her twin sister, Wanni.
Handi, who was recently evicted from the reality show, shared her side of the story during an interview on Classic 97.3 FM, Lagos. According to her, she initially decided to move past the incident due to Ben’s emotional apology. She explained that Ben approached her after one of their Saturday night parties, visibly upset and crying. He repeatedly told her, “That’s not who I am, that’s not who I am,” expressing regret for his actions.
Handi revealed that Ben’s apology at the time felt sincere, which is why she chose to let the issue go. “He was crying to my ear, and I was like, okay, I will drop the case,” she recalled during the interview. Handi explained that despite her own feelings and suspicions about what happened, she decided to look past the incident, thinking that the apology meant the matter was resolved.
However, after leaving the Big Brother Naija house, Handi was shocked to learn that Ben had issued a legal threat against her and her sister. Ben reportedly plans to sue both of them for making the sexual assault accusation public, even though Handi believed the issue was settled during the show.
Reacting to this development, Handi shared that she’s standing firm on her accusation. “He did do that,” she said, referring to the alleged assault. “I told him, you did what you did. I really wished Biggie [the show’s producer] had shown me the video or anything, but I’m a woman, I know my body. I know when someone does something to me. I’m not a baby.”
While Handi had initially chosen to let the matter slide, she made it clear during her interview that she is fully prepared to go to court if Ben insists on taking legal action. “If he wants to take it legally, he should come. I’m ready for it,” she confidently stated.
This revelation has further fueled speculation and debate among fans of the show, with many divided on the issue. Some support Handi’s decision to stand her ground, while others are waiting to see if Ben will indeed proceed with his legal threats.
As of now, it’s unclear whether Ben will follow through with his lawsuit, or if the matter will be settled outside the courtroom. However, Handi’s strong stance suggests that she won’t back down easily, and she’s prepared to fight for what she believes is right.
The ongoing dispute has raised serious questions about what happened during the show and how issues like these are handled within the Big Brother Naija environment. Viewers and fans will undoubtedly continue to follow the unfolding drama between Handi and Ben, eager to see how this legal battle will play out.
