Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State is confident that the notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji, will soon be caught or killed. Speaking on a TV show, Politics Today, he said the government and security forces are working together to stop Turji’s violent attacks in the region.
The governor explained that the partnership between the state government, the Federal Government, and security agencies is strong. He is certain that the efforts will soon bring an end to Turji’s reign of terror. “It’s only a matter of time before Turji is killed,” he said.
This statement follows recent successes by the Nigerian military, including the killing of another notorious bandit leader, Halilu Sububu. Sububu, along with over 30 other bandits, was eliminated in a military operation last week. He had been responsible for violent attacks in Zamfara, Sokoto, and other parts of the North-West.
Governor Lawal believes that with these efforts, peace will return to the region soon.
