Tinubu’s Cap Design Has Become A Symbol Of Oppression – Says Atiku’s Aide

Phrank Shaibu has come out strongly against President Bola Tinubu. As the Special Assistant on Public Communication to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate in the last election, Shaibu has accused Tinubu of using a symbol that has turned into a source of suffering for Nigerians.

Shaibu’s criticism focuses on Tinubu’s broken shackle symbol, which was initially intended to represent freedom and human rights. According to Shaibu, this symbol now signifies oppression rather than liberation.

In his critique, Shaibu draws a comparison between Tinubu’s symbol and the swastika. The swastika, once a symbol of good fortune across various cultures, lost its positive meaning due to its association with the Nazi regime of Adolf Hitler.

Shaibu argues that Tinubu’s broken shackle, like the swastika, has shifted from a positive symbol to one that embodies oppression.

“Everyone now knows that Emilokan is not about shared prosperity for all but about a rabid appropriation of state assets to personal ownership,” Shaibu added.

“The disillusionment with the Emilokan symbol has become so widespread that the caps, once proudly displayed by vendors and supporters, are now gathering dust.”

However, Shaibu dismisses this comparison as a “political impersonation fraud of grand proportions.”

“Everyone now knows that Tinubu is not Awolowo.”
