In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old man named Lawan Adamu was found dead with a slit throat in the Nayi-Nawa area of Damaturu, Yobe State. The Yobe State Police Command reported the tragic event, which occurred on September 15.
The police were alerted by a distress call around 10:30 p.m., leading them to the scene where they discovered the body of Lawan Adamu. The victim had deep cuts to his throat and multiple stab wounds. A blood-stained knife was found near the body.
The police immediately moved the body to General Hospital Damaturu, where a doctor confirmed that Lawan had passed away. His body has been kept in the hospital morgue for further examination.
In connection with the crime, the police have arrested a suspect named Yunusa Isa, also known as Abba, who is 24 years old. Investigations are still ongoing to determine the exact motive and details behind this gruesome act.
Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Garba Ahmed, has assured the public that detectives are working hard to solve the case and ensure justice is served swiftly.
