In a tragic event in Lagos, a 20-year-old man was fatally shot by a group of assailants. The incident occurred on the streets of Okokomaiko, in the Ojo area of Lagos State, and has prompted an immediate investigation by the local police.

Details of the Incident: The Lagos State Police Command reported that they were alerted by a distress call from concerned residents. According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the call described a harrowing scene where four unidentified gunmen chased the victim down Abeokuta Street in Okokomaiko. The attackers fired shots aimed at the victim’s head, stomach, and legs before fleeing the scene.

“Upon receiving the information about 9:30pm., our anti-crime team was immediately dispatched to the scene. There, they met one Ms. Vivian, the mother of the deceased, who identified the victim as her 20-year-old son. The young man, whose name is being withheld for security reasons, had been fatally shot multiple times.

Investigation is currently in progress, and efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest the suspects. This act of violence will not go unpunished,”

Current Situation: The victim’s body has been taken to the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) Mortuary in Yaba for further examination. The police are actively searching for the suspects involved in this heinous crime. SP Hundeyin assured the public that the police are committed to using every available resource to track down the perpetrators and ensure justice is served.
