Helge Rasche, the 33-year-old head coach of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Under 19 team, has tragically lost his life in a car accident. The club confirmed the sad news, leaving the football community in shock.
Rasche, who had been with Eintracht Frankfurt since 2020, died on Thursday, September 5. The Bundesliga club made the announcement on Friday morning, expressing their deep sorrow over the loss of their talented coach.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Eintracht Frankfurt stated, “We are devastated by the loss of our U19 head coach, Helge Rasche.” The club added that Rasche, at just 33 years old, passed away in a traffic accident the day before. The club also extended their sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time.

They responded to Eintracht Frankfurt’s post, saying, “We too mourn the loss of Helge Rasche and would like to express our deepest sympathy. Our thoughts are with him, his family, and loved ones. Rest in peace.”
According to a report by German newspaper BILD, Rasche was driving a white Hyundai on a road between Dietzenbach and Rodgau, located southwest of Frankfurt. The report revealed that Rasche’s car veered off the road after a junction leading to a gravel site and crashed into a tree. The car was severely damaged, with the front of the vehicle crushed beyond recognition. Unfortunately, Rasche died at the scene due to the serious injuries he sustained.
The tragic news was delivered to the Eintracht Frankfurt players on Thursday, leaving them deeply saddened.
Rasche joined Eintracht Frankfurt’s youth department in 2020 and quickly made a name for himself. In 2023, he was promoted to head coach of the U17 team and later took charge of the U19 team in the youth Bundesliga. This season, Rasche had already been on the sidelines for five games in the U19 youth league (Group D), where his team was performing well, sitting in second place with 10 points.
Just days before the accident, Rasche was preparing his team for a home game against Darmstadt 98, scheduled for September 14. His sudden passing has left a void in the team and the entire club.
Helge Rasche’s death is a tragic loss for Eintracht Frankfurt and the broader football community. His dedication to nurturing young talent and his contributions to the game will be remembered. The club, players, and fans mourn the loss of a promising coach whose life was cut short far too soon.
