O’Reilly Senior High School in Okpoi-Gonno, Accra, is under scrutiny after the tragic death of a final-year student, Edward Borketey Sackey. On Tuesday, September 4, Edward was fatally stabbed during an argument with his classmates.
The disagreement reportedly began as a debate about whose father was wealthier but quickly escalated into a physical fight. During the altercation, one student allegedly pulled out a sharp object and attacked Edward, stabbing him several times. Sadly, Edward did not survive his injuries.
This marks the second student murder at O’Reilly Senior High School, leading to heightened concerns about the safety and security measures in place. Many members of the community, including social media users, are accusing the school of failing to protect its students and maintain discipline on campus.
As of now, the school’s management has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident or the concerns raised about the safety of its students.
