Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Group, has shared that petrol from his new Lagos-based refinery could be on the market within 48 hours, depending on the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). In an interview with Channels Television, Dangote explained that his $20 billion refinery, which has a daily capacity of 650,000 barrels, is nearly ready to begin distribution.
Dangote noted that final arrangements with NNPCL are in progress to ensure the petrol reaches Nigerian filling stations. Regarding the price of the petrol, Dangote mentioned that it will be decided by the Federal Executive Council, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He added that once these discussions are completed, the petrol could be available as soon as today or tomorrow.
