A tragic accident occurred on the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos, where a dispatch rider lost his life in a multiple-vehicle crash. The incident happened on Friday near the Chevron area of the expressway.
The collision involved a high-capacity bus, a KIA RIO car, and a motorcycle. According to reports from Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the bus lost control due to brake failure, which caused it to collide with the KIA RIO. The impact forced the car to crash into the dispatch rider’s motorcycle. Sadly, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other individuals sustained severe leg fractures and were quickly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, thanks to the help of a kind passerby.
LASTMA’s General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, extended his condolences to the family of the deceased and urged drivers, especially those operating large buses, to ensure their vehicles are in good working condition before hitting the road.
