In Edo State, two brothers, Adodo Irorehe (62) and Godwin Isaac Irorehe (40), have been arrested for attacking police officers and being involved in drug dealing. Their arrest came during a raid carried out by the Raider Squad of the Edo State Police Command, targeting areas known for selling illicit drugs.
According to SP Joel Moses Yamu, the police spokesperson, the brothers owned the location where drugs were being sold. When the police arrived, the brothers reacted violently by pulling out guns and firing several shots at the officers. One of the police vehicles had its side mirror damaged during the incident.
Despite the attack, the police successfully resisted and arrested the brothers. A search of the premises revealed a double-barrel gun, a single-barrel gun, nine live cartridges, four expended cartridges, and a large quantity of what is believed to be Indian hemp along with other illegal drugs.
The police have assured the public that the suspects will be charged to court after their investigation is complete. This arrest is part of a broader effort by the Edo State Police Command to crack down on drug-related crime in the area.
