Akintade Adepemi, a Nigerian lady, recently shared a chilling experience she and her friend, Olamide, encountered just weeks before their graduation from university. What was supposed to be a routine trip to Oshodi, Lagos, to pick up fabrics for their final year graduation party quickly turned into a near-death experience.
Adepemi and Olamide had boarded a commercial bus, anticipating nothing more than a simple journey. However, things took a dramatic turn when the bus caught fire just before reaching a bridge. With no time to spare, the two friends and other passengers scrambled to escape. In a video Adepemi posted online, passengers can be seen jumping from the burning vehicle, while others were pulled to safety by passersby.
Miraculously, everyone managed to escape without serious injuries. Adepemi took to social media to express her gratitude for surviving such a terrifying ordeal. “We narrowly escaped death,” she said in her testimony, adding that this experience has deepened her appreciation for life and the importance of gratitude.
She wrote,
“God did this !!! Honestly we still can’t phantom how we are still alive today,“
”Few weeks back as part of the final year committee. We had to go and pick cloth (Ankara) for our Owambe party
Hi
Na so we enter bus go Oshodi and from there we decided to also check out Lagos so that we will know we weighed all our options
That’s how we boarded this bus at Oshodi ( bolade ) just before the bridge and the bus caught fire right before the bridge
How we jumped out we don’t know
How we are still here today we can’t comprehend
How that fire that blasted. It is definitely not by our power. Not by our might. Not by who run down pass
In that moment as I was shaking I asked Olamide to make a video. I would usually not do that but I don’t know what pushed it. I believe that whatever it is wants us to share our testimony
Which is why we are doing this to remind somebody somewhere that God is always God even in our unfaithfulness. He never fails to
God kept us. He made sure that we stay alive to witness our sign out and many more.
For us this sign out is not just graduating from school. It is God showing himself that he is the author and finisher of our faith
In case you see us undignified. No vex. It’s because the number of our scars are the number of our testimonies. ”
This shocking event, happening so close to their graduation, serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and how quickly things can change in an instant.
