On August 12, 2024, the Rivers State Police revealed that the Actions People’s Party (APP) office in Port Harcourt was attacked by hoodlums. According to the police, the attackers arrived in a car, got out, and threw an explosive device at the office, causing a loud explosion and significant damage to the building. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko shared details of the incident. She explained that the attackers parked a few meters from the APP office, set off the explosive, and then quickly drove away. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and started investigating. They found a crater where the explosive was detonated and collected samples for further forensic analysis.
The police have identified Mr. Preye Josiah as a primary suspect in this attack. He is currently hospitalized due to injuries sustained from the explosion. The police are continuing their investigation to apprehend everyone involved in this disturbing incident.
