In Bauchi State, a heartbreaking event unfolded with the abduction and murder of 8-year-old Kamal Aliyu. On August 4, 2024, Kamal went missing from his village, Runjin Gani, in Toro Local Government Area. After a determined search, police arrested Ibrahim Mohamed Liman, a 23-year-old resident of the same village.
Liman confessed to the crime, revealing that he lured Kamal under the guise of sending him to deliver a message to his father. Along with an accomplice, Liman took the young boy to a nearby bush, where they tragically killed him and buried his body in a shallow grave. They then demanded a ransom of 200,000 Naira from Kamal’s father but failed to collect it due to the presence of security forces in the area.
The Bauchi State Police Command has assured the public that they are committed to ensuring justice for Kamal and his family. The case is now being handled by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough investigation.
This tragic incident has left the community in shock and grief, as many call for justice to be served swiftly.
