Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has promised to inform the Federal Government about the serious flooding that has severely damaged a key section of the Kano-Maiduguri expressway. The heavy rain washed away a part of the road between Malori and Guskuri Villages in Katagum Local Government Area, making the road impossible to use and forcing drivers to find other routes.
Governor Mohammed visited the affected area to see the damage for himself and explore ways to help people who depend on this important road that connects the Northwest and Northeast regions of Nigeria. He stressed how crucial the road is and asked the Federal Government to quickly repair the damaged section to prevent accidents and other problems.
He also said his administration would look into how they can maintain some federal roads in Bauchi State, especially now that the rainy season is making them dangerous. A team of state engineers will be sent right away to assess the damage and prepare a report, which will be given to the Federal Ministry of Works for quick action. The governor asked the public to be patient and understanding, assuring them that steps will be taken soon to fix the issue.
