Three Arrested for Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, and Murder in Ekiti

In Ekiti State, three individuals have been arrested for their involvement in armed robbery, kidnapping, and murder. Among the suspects is Omowaye Ayodele, a former convict who was recently released from prison. The other suspects are Ojo Temidayo and Busarí Lookman.

According to the Ekiti State Police Command, these arrests followed a series of violent incidents, including attacks on Point of Sale (PoS) agents and other residents.

Omowaye Ayodele, also known as Baba Ogbon, was caught in Akure. He had been imprisoned for kidnapping and was released earlier this year. He admitted to his role in the murder of Aina Adeyemi, a middle-aged woman who was killed on July 6, 2024. The suspects stole N155,000 from her. Ayodele also confessed to participating in the kidnapping and murder of Professor Femi Olaofe, a former deputy vice chancellor at Ekiti State University.

The police’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) quickly responded to the scene where Aina Adeyemi was found and took Ayodele into custody. During interrogation, he named Ojo Temidayo (known as Yellow) and Busarí Lookman (known as Abbey) as his accomplices. Lookman admitted to shooting Adeyemi and taking her money, which was later divided among the suspects.

Temidayo, who is also involved in drug dealing and fraud, and the other suspects are now under investigation. Efforts are ongoing to capture the remaining gang member.
