In Lagos, hoodlums chased away #EndBadGovernance protesters who had gathered at Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota. At around 10:30am, a dispute arose among the protest organizers. A lawyer named JP advised the protesters to leave, citing President Bola Tinubu’s recent address to the nation. However, another group, led by 70-year-old Adegboyega Adeniji of Peace Action Transformation, insisted on staying.
The police intervened, asking the protesters to leave. Soon after, a group of thugs appeared and began dispersing the protesters. By 11:30am, the hoodlums, armed with dangerous weapons, returned and chased all the protesters away. The police have since taken over the protest grounds.
Before being forced to leave, the protesters sang solidarity songs in response to President Tinubu’s address.
