Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, has called on the “End Bad Governance in Nigeria” protesters to engage in dialogue with the government. On August 1, Wike made this appeal during a ceremony where he presented office staff to four newly appointed chiefs in the FCT.
Wike emphasized that the government is eager to hear the protesters’ concerns and to explain some governance issues they might not fully understand. He commended the protesters for their nonviolent stance and urged them to continue resisting any attempts to harm the nation. He highlighted the critical importance of Abuja as the country’s capital, warning that any damage to the FCT could negatively impact the entire nation.
