Kano has erupted in protests as hundreds of young people have taken to the streets, calling for immediate government action. The demonstrations began in neighborhoods such as Gama, Tudun Wada, and Tudun Murtala, where protesters marched with vibrant body paint and expressive placards.
However, the situation intensified in areas like Hotoro, Maiduguri Road, and Ahmadu Bello Way, where some participants carried dangerous weapons and shouted demands for urgent government intervention. The police, alongside NSCDC and DSS officers, established a strong presence to manage the situation and swiftly confiscated weapons from the protesters.
In response to the unrest, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has called for the protesters to submit their demands peacefully at the Government House. He assured that he would personally deliver these requests to the president if necessary.
