A shocking incident recently occurred in Minna, the capital of Niger State. A 29-year-old man named Mizanmil Abubakar admitted to killing his father out of sheer hatred.

According to the Niger State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the Kpakungu Police Division received a report on July 29 that a 65-year-old man named Abubakar Adawa was missing from his home in the Barkin-Sale area of Minna.

Police officers visited the house and interrogated Mizanmil Abubakar and his mother, Aisha Abubakar. During a thorough search of the property, they discovered Abubakar Adawa’s severed body buried in a shallow grave within the compound.

During questioning, Mizanmil confessed to the gruesome crime. He explained that his intense hatred for his father led him to use a hoe to kill him, then dismember and bury the body within their compound.

The police are continuing their investigation, and the suspect will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
