Drew Kohn, a 30-year-old man known for his miraculous recovery from a 244-day coma, has tragically passed away after being struck by a pickup truck. His story is one of hope, faith, and incredible resilience.

In 2017, just days before his 23rd birthday, Drew was involved in a motorcycle accident that left him with a severe brain injury and in a deep coma. Doctors had little hope for his recovery and even considered harvesting his organs. However, Drew’s mother, Yolanda Osborne-Kohn, refused to give up. Driven by her strong faith, she insisted that her son would wake up.

Miraculously, after 244 days in a coma, Drew did wake up. His first words to his mother were, “Yeah, Mom, I’m OK. I love you, Mom.” His journey to recovery was long and arduous, but he eventually began walking again after years of intensive rehabilitation. Drew’s story became a beacon of hope and inspiration to many, showcasing the power of faith and perseverance.

Tragically, on July 26, 2024, Drew’s life was cut short when he was hit by a pickup truck while walking on Collins Road in Jacksonville. The driver did not see him and called 911 immediately, but it was too late. Drew was pronounced dead at the scene.

Despite the heartache, Yolanda remains grateful for the seven additional years she had with her son. She believes Drew is now in heaven, free from suffering and pain. “God honored my request, and I’m not mad. I’m not angry. I’m at peace,” she shared. Yolanda finds comfort in her faith, imagining Drew healed and happy, holding a football in one hand and a Bible in the other.
