If you’ve been experiencing long queues at fuel stations in Lagos and Abuja, you’re not alone. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has shed light on the reasons behind the current fuel scarcity in these areas.
Olufemi Soneye, the chief corporate communications officer at NNPC, explained that the tight fuel supply is due to some problems with the discharge operations of a few vessels carrying fuel. These issues have led to delays and disruptions in getting fuel to the stations.
But there’s good news. NNPC is actively working around the clock with all relevant stakeholders to resolve these issues. They are committed to restoring normal fuel supply and distribution as soon as possible.
Soneye said,
“The NNPC Ltd. wishes to state that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels”
In the meantime, while the situation is being addressed, it’s important to stay patient and informed. NNPC’s efforts are ongoing, and they are doing everything they can to ensure the fuel situation returns to normal quickly.
Stay tuned for updates and more information as the situation develops.
